What owners have told us
Rohani Abdul Halim
Gift shop owner, Puchong
"I came in with a lot of anxiety about whether to open a second outlet. After the session I didn't necessarily have an answer, but I had a much clearer picture of what I was actually deciding. The written note Zulkifli sent afterward helped me explain my thinking to my husband too."

Krishnan Subramaniam
Café operator, Subang Jaya
"The Cost Review was genuinely useful. I knew my supplier costs had drifted upward but hadn't sat down to look at it properly. The findings document they produced was clear and I've already renegotiated two of the arrangements they flagged. The process took a bit longer than I expected, but the output was worth it."
Supplier & Cost Review · April 2025
Faridah Zainudin
Tailoring business, Klang
"I've been on the Progress Partnership for seven months now. The monthly sessions are something I look forward to — it's the one time in the month I'm thinking about the business rather than just running it. The quarterly summaries are also useful when I need to remind myself what we've covered."

Lim Chee Wai
Printing services, Shah Alam
"I appreciated that they didn't come in with a fixed view of what I should do. The session on pricing was particularly good — they helped me work through the logic myself rather than just telling me what price to set. That made it easier to implement, because I understood the reasoning."

Noraida Mohd Yusoff
Catering business, Petaling Jaya
"The Cost Review uncovered a supplier arrangement that I had just inherited from the previous owner and never looked at properly. It was costing me more than it should have been. Nurul was thorough and presented everything in plain language — there was nothing I couldn't follow."

Tan Han Keat
Electrical contractor, Puchong
"I've been a Progress Partnership client since January and I find it useful to have a consistent advisory relationship rather than starting from scratch each time I have a question. The email support is a nice feature — I use it a few times a month for smaller things that don't need a full session."

A closer look at three client journeys
A florist in Puchong deciding whether to take on a second location
Next Step ReviewThe situation
The owner had been approached about taking over a vacant retail unit nearby at a below-market rate. She felt the opportunity was good but was unsure whether her current operation could absorb the added complexity of a second site.
What we did
One session exploring the operational, financial, and personal implications of the decision. We prepared a written overview covering the key considerations on both sides, including some questions the owner hadn't yet thought to ask.
What followed
The owner decided to proceed, but on a modified timeline with a six-month trial arrangement. Her assessment was that the session helped her feel confident in the decision rather than just hopeful about it.
"I went in uncertain and came out with a plan I could explain clearly to everyone involved."
A small distributor in Shah Alam easing pressure on recurring costs
Cost ReviewThe situation
The business had grown to the point where margins were being squeezed by a combination of rising freight costs and supplier payment terms that had not been revisited since the business was founded. The owner had not had time to examine the arrangements in detail.
What we did
Two sessions and a written findings document covering five supplier arrangements and three categories of recurring cost. We identified areas where renegotiation was likely to be straightforward and noted two areas where it was not worth the relationship risk.
What followed
The owner pursued three of the five suggestions and achieved better payment terms with two suppliers within six weeks of the engagement. He estimated the changes would reduce his annual cost base by roughly RM 28,000.
"The thing I valued most was that the report told me which things were not worth pursuing as well as which ones were."
A clinic owner in Petaling Jaya building steady growth over twelve months
Progress PartnershipThe situation
A general practice clinic with three staff and an owner who felt the business had plateaued. She knew roughly what she wanted the business to look like in three years but had no structured way of working toward it.
What we did
Monthly sessions over twelve months, each focused on a different aspect of the practice: staffing, pricing, patient retention, operating hours, and physical space. Quarterly written summaries kept track of progress and shifts in priorities.
What followed
By the end of the year the practice had added one part-time staff member, adjusted its evening availability, and refined its appointment process. Revenue grew by 18% over the twelve months, which the owner attributed in part to the more intentional approach.
"Having a consistent outside perspective made decisions easier. I stopped second-guessing myself as much."
